Leafy spurge is a perennial that grows 1 to 3 feet tall, with leaves branching off the stalk and a cluster of small yellow flowers clustered at the top.  Flowers have heart shaped yellow/green bracts.  Stems contain a distinct white, milky sap that can cause skin irritation. Leafy Spurge has an extensive root system and it spreads by seeds that are shot up to 15 feet by air pockets that explode within the plant.

Leafy spurge is toxic to livestock, as it will cause severe irritation in the mouth and digestive track of animals that graze on it. It can also irritate the skin of human who come in to contact with the milky sap.
